COMESA Advertises Eight Senior Professional Positions Across Member States

LUSAKA, Zambia — The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) has announced vacancies for eight regular established professional positions, inviting qualified and experienced professionals from its 21 member states to apply.

In a vacancy notice dated February 10, 2026, the regional bloc said the recruitment drive forms part of efforts to strengthen its institutional capacity as it advances regional integration, trade development, and economic cooperation across Eastern and Southern Africa.

According to the announcement, the available posts span senior leadership and technical roles within the Secretariat.

The positions advertised include:

  • Director of Gender and Social Affairs (P5)
  • Director of Information and Communication Technology (P5)
  • Director of Agriculture and Industry (P5)
  • Chief of Internal Audit and Risk Management (P4)
  • Mining Expert (P3)
  • Telecommunications Expert (P3)
  • Trade Officer (Services) (P2)
  • Strategic Planning and Policy Harmonization Officer (P2)

Each position has one vacancy.

COMESA, headquartered at the COMESA Centre in Lusaka, is a regional economic community that seeks to promote economic integration through trade facilitation, harmonised policies, and coordinated development initiatives among its member states.

The bloc plays a central role in advancing continental integration frameworks aligned with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), particularly in areas of trade in goods and services, infrastructure development, and regulatory harmonisation.
