NAIROBI, Kenya – Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos on Thursday officially launched the 2026 national examination and assessment registration exercise at the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) offices in South C, Nairobi.
The launch signals the start of registration for learners expected to sit various national examinations and assessments later this year.
The CS urged heads of institutions to ensure that candidates’ details are accurately captured during the registration process to prevent errors that could disadvantage learners.
“Heads of Institution are under duty to ensure that learners’ registration details are correctly captured, so that no learner is disenfranchised,” Migos said during the event.

He emphasised the importance of early and accurate registration in facilitating smooth planning, coordination and administration of the examinations nationwide.
The event was attended by KNEC Chair Prof. Julius Nyabundi and KNEC Chief Executive Officer Dr. David Njengere, among other education stakeholders.
The Ministry of Education has encouraged schools and parents to adhere to registration timelines and guidelines issued by KNEC to ensure all eligible candidates are duly registered.
