Israeli Fighter Jets Destroy Khamenei’s Underground Bunker in Tehran

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says about 50 fighter jets from the Israeli Air Force carried out a large-scale airstrike targeting an underground military bunker beneath the leadership compound of Ali Khamenei in Tehran, Iran.

According to Israeli military officials, the bunker served as a heavily fortified command center designed for Iran’s supreme leadership during wartime.

The complex reportedly stretched beneath several streets in central Tehran and contained multiple entrances and meeting rooms used by senior Iranian officials.

Massive coordinated strike

The IDF said the operation involved roughly 50 fighter aircraft dropping more than 100 munitions on the underground facility after weeks of intelligence gathering.

The strike was intended to dismantle a key command hub used by the Iranian regime to coordinate military activities.

Israeli authorities also released aerial footage showing explosions and thick plumes of smoke rising from the compound following the strike.

Part of a wider military campaign

The bunker was reportedly built as a secure emergency command centre for Iran’s supreme leader and senior officials.

Israeli officials said the facility continued to be used by regime figures even after Khamenei was killed earlier in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

The attack marks a significant escalation in the intensifying regional conflict, raising concerns about further retaliation and instability across the Middle East.

Military analysts say the destruction of the underground complex could significantly weaken Iran’s command-and-control capabilities if the facility was indeed a central coordination hub for leadership operations.
