NAIROBI, Kenya – A new poll shows Embakasi East MP Babu Owino as the most preferred Luo leader following the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
According to the end-of-year survey by Infotrak, released on Sunday, December 28, Babu leads with 33pc support as the preferred successor to the late Odinga.
He is followed by Oburu Odinga, Raila’s brother and current ODM Party leader, at 13pc, while Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga trails in third place with 7pc.
Other leaders on the list include Siaya Governor James Orengo at 4pc, Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi at 2pc, Interior PS Dr Raymond Omollo at 2pc, Treasury CS John Mbadi at 2pc, and Dr Miguna Miguna at 1pc.

Notably, 37pc of respondents were undecided.
The poll was conducted between December 19 and 20 using quantitative interviews via Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI).
Analysts say the results reflect the shifting dynamics of Luo politics following Raila Odinga’s passing and indicate rising public interest in younger political figures like Babu Owino.
