NYERI, Kenya — Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School erupted into celebrations after posting a strong performance in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, with more than 97 per cent of its candidates qualifying for university admission.
Results released on Monday show that 97.17 per cent of the 381 candidates attained C+ and above, the minimum grade required for direct university entry, underscoring the school’s steady rise in academic performance.
The Nyeri-based national school recorded a mean score of 9.179 (Grade B), marking an improvement from the previous year and reinforcing its reputation as one of the top-performing girls’ schools in the region.

In the distribution of top grades, 11 candidates scored A (plain), while 70 attained A-.
A further 104 students posted B+, 105 scored B, and 88 earned B-, reflecting a strong overall performance across the cohort.
School administrators attributed the results to consistent academic discipline, close collaboration between teachers and learners, and sustained investment in learning resources.
The strong KCSE showing places Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls among schools with high university transition rates in the 2025 examinations and adds to its track record of academic excellence.
