BEIJING, China – Kenya’s rich wildlife and dramatic landscapes are taking centre stage in China through the lens of legendary photographer Luo Hong, whose latest showcase is drawing renewed attention to the country as a top global tourism destination.
Luo, an internationally acclaimed Chinese photographer, environmentalist and founder of the Holiland bakery brand, has dedicated much of his work to capturing nature in its most pristine form.
His photographs of Kenya’s sweeping savannahs, iconic wildlife and untamed beauty are currently on display at the Luo Hong Art Museum in Beijing, offering Chinese audiences a rare and immersive visual journey into East Africa.
The exhibition highlights Kenya’s natural heritage, from its vast national parks to intimate wildlife moments, presenting the country not just as a travel destination but as a living ecosystem worth protecting.
Luo’s work has long blended art and environmental advocacy, a philosophy that resonates strongly with conservation efforts in Kenya.

During a visit to the museum, Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs Korir Sing’oei described the gallery as a powerful platform for cultural and tourism diplomacy, noting that Luo’s imagery has helped shape positive perceptions of Kenya in China and contributed to growing interest from Chinese travellers.
The engagement also opens doors for deeper collaboration between Luo, Kenyan institutions and relevant government departments, with a view to leveraging his long-standing interest in Kenya and the wider region to boost tourism, cultural exchange and conservation awareness.
Kenya has in recent years targeted the Chinese market as a key source of tourists, and initiatives such as Luo’s exhibition are seen as valuable soft-power tools that complement traditional tourism marketing.
He also acknowledged the role of Kenya’s diplomatic team in Beijing in facilitating the visit and strengthening ties with cultural influencers who can amplify Kenya’s global profile.
