NANYUKI, Kenya — Constable Winfred Gacheri Kinoti has been promoted from the rank of Constable in recognition of her 18 years of dedicated service in the Kenya Police Service.
The promotion ceremony was presided over by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja during a security and citizen service assessment in Nanyuki, Laikipia County.
Constable Kinoti has spent the last three years stationed in Mukogodo Forest, where she served as the only female officer in the area.

Her work involved patrolling remote and challenging terrains, supporting conservation efforts, and ensuring security for local communities living near the forest.
Officials lauded her dedication, professionalism, and resilience, noting that her presence has strengthened law enforcement in a region often challenged by wildlife-human conflicts and security concerns.
CS Murkomen emphasized that promotions like Constable Kinoti’s reflect the Kenya Police Service’s commitment to rewarding merit, professionalism, and gender inclusion in security operations.
