CS Muturi Expected To Present Written Statement To Detectives Over Son’s Abduction

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi is Tuesday afternoon expected to present a written statement to detectives at Kilimani Police Station.

This follows a request by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to provide whatever information he has on the incident in mid-2024.

The DCI was reacting to his statement condemning President William Ruto’s government- which he serves in over a spate of abductions and killings of the youth.

Most of those who have been victims of abductions, Muturi said were government critics.

His remarks came as a shock to many since he is a serving Cabinet Secretary. When the incident happened, he was serving as Attorney General.

Even as the Attorney General, he said it was hard to get answers or closure over the incident that left his family in shock and pain.

In a statement, the DCI said CS Muturi’s son’s case was active at Kilimani Police Station.

“The alleged case of abduction involving CS Justin Muturi’s son is active before DCI Kilimani. Considering that only the son volunteered to record a statement, we wish to invite CS Muturi and any other person with information on the incident to record a statement with DCI Kilimani,” reads the statement.
