NAIROBI, Kenya– In a heartwarming gesture this Valentine’s Day, officers from the National Police Service (NPS) in Dagoretti South Sub-County shared lunch, flowers, and encouragement with children from across the community.
The initiative, led by Dagoretti South Sub-County Administration Police Service Commander Dr. Margaret Gakami, brought young ones together for a celebration of love, unity, and care.
Beyond sharing a meal, officers engaged with the children, offering words of encouragement and reminding them they are valued and supported.
Dr. Gakami highlighted that policing goes beyond enforcing the law.
“Beyond maintaining peace and security, our role also involves compassion, empathy, and community connection. We encourage children to focus on their studies, embrace discipline, and always trust in God,” she said.
The event was made possible through a partnership with the Friends of Mustard Seed Foundation, SGA Security Company, Green Africa Global Foundation, and the Children’s Garden Children’s Home, demonstrating the power of collaboration in uplifting communities.
The NPS reaffirmed its commitment to service with integrity and compassion, showing that acts of kindness and care are integral to the daily work of safeguarding Kenyans.
