NAIROBI, Kenya — Nairobi police have recovered a Desert Eagle .50 AE Magnum pistol in Dandora following a tip-off from members of the public about suspicious activity in the area.
At around 1 am on Saturday, officers at Dandora Police Station received reports that three men, believed to be armed, were spotted in the Katoo area of Dandora Phase 5.
Responding swiftly, the police rushed to the scene, but the suspects fled upon spotting them.
During the chase, the suspects abandoned a jacket.

A subsequent search revealed the high-calibre pistol, which was unloaded.
The firearm has since been secured as evidence, while officers continue to pursue the suspects.
The National Police Service commended the public for providing timely information, which enabled a rapid response, and praised the officers for their prompt action.
Authorities emphasized that community cooperation is critical in the fight against criminal gangs and organized crime in Nairobi.
