U.S. and Kenya Strengthen Space Cooperation in Nairobi

NAIROBI, Kenya- Nairobi hosted high-level bilateral discussions from February 26–27, 2026, as officials from the United States and Kenya met to strengthen cooperation in the space sector. The talks brought together senior officers and staff from both countries.

The discussions focused on education and training, commercial applications of space data, and initiatives to support border and maritime monitoring. 

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding collaboration and leveraging shared expertise in space technology.

The Kenya Space Agency (KSA) highlighted the value of the partnership in supporting the growth of the national space ecosystem, including operational and commercial opportunities. 

The visit is part of ongoing efforts to build capacity and foster sustainable collaboration between the two countries in emerging space technologies.

Future joint initiatives are expected to include workforce development, space data sharing, and applications for security and research purposes, strengthening Kenya’s presence in the regional and global space arena.
