NAIROBI, Kenya- The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has secured a life imprisonment sentence against a middle-aged man convicted of defiling an 11-year-old boy in Kajiado County, in a ruling hailed as a major victory for child protection and justice.
In a judgment delivered by Principal Magistrate V. Kachuodho, the Kajiado court found that the accused committed the offence in 2022, after luring the minor from his home under false pretences.
The court heard that once isolated, the child was threatened, intimidated and subjected to sexual abuse. The victim’s testimony was found to be clear, consistent and credible, leaving no doubt as to the perpetrator’s guilt.

While handing down the sentence, the magistrate noted that the offender deliberately targeted a vulnerable child, using intimidation and violence to carry out the crime.
“This was a grave offence against a defenceless minor and warrants the maximum punishment under the law,” the court ruled.
The prosecution, led by Linda Nzioka, presented five witnesses, whose corroborated evidence proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
The ODPP said conviction and sentence underscore the DPP’s firm commitment to safeguarding children, ensuring survivors of sexual violence obtain justice, and holding perpetrators fully accountable.
