Those apprehended are Police Constable Agnes Longoet and Police Constable Alphanus Anayo. They have been taken to the EACC Lower Coast Regional Office in Mombasa for statement recording and further processing.

The commission said the operation is part of its ongoing crackdown on bribery on major roads, particularly during the festive season.

The EACC is intensifying intelligence gathering and surveillance targeting public service sectors prone to corruption, in a bid to deter officials from engaging in bribery.

Motorists and members of the public have been urged to report any instances of bribery to help authorities root out corrupt practices.
