Gachagua’s DCP Rises to Third Most Popular Party, Surpassing Jubilee and Wiper

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democratic Choice Party (DCP) has emerged as the third most popular political party in Kenya, surpassing Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee and Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Party, according to the latest Infotrak poll released on December 28, 2025.

The survey shows DCP with a 6% approval rating, trailing the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) at 23% and ODM at 19%.

Jubilee and Wiper recorded 5% and 4% respectively.

DCP, the youngest party on the list, was registered by Gachagua following his impeachment as Deputy President after a bitter fallout with President William Ruto.

Despite its recent formation, the party has gained significant traction in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region, a stronghold that delivered key victories to Ruto in the 2022 presidential race.

Political analysts note that DCP’s rapid rise reflects Gachagua’s personal popularity and strategic positioning in central Kenya, signaling a potential shift in the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
