MP Jayne Kihara Dismisses Claims She Has Abandoned Gachagua

Date:

NAIVASHA, Kenya- Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara has dismissed claims circulating online that she has dumped former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing bloggers of spreading falsehoods and misunderstanding her political values.

In a statement, Kihara said some bloggers, whom she linked to goverment, were projecting a “money-driven” view of politics that does not reflect her record or convictions.

“I think they are used to dealing with politicians whose only language in politics is money and they now assume every politician has a price tag,” Kihara said.

She was categorical that she cut ties with what she termed a “lying camp” long ago and has no intention of returning.

“For avoidance of doubt, I left the lying camp a long time ago and I never left anything that belongs to me there that can make me go back,” she added.

Kihara warned that anyone attempting to associate her with political transactions funded by looted public resources should be rebuffed.

“If you’re looking for leaders to buy with your looted public money and anyone suggested my name to you, please send them back to the market,” she said.

The MP is one of the key allies of Gachagua and his DCP Party.

She is, however, an elected member of UDA, which belongs to President William Ruto.
