‘Sikuiba Pesa’: Junet Mohammed Details How ODM Agents’ Funds Were Handled

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Suna Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed has clarified his role regarding campaign agent funds during the 2022 elections, insisting that he did not handle money intended for ODM agents.

“The money was supposed to be managed via Safaricom by Patrick Mburu. I didn’t take agents’ money,” the National Assembly Minority Leader said.

He suggested that other factors contributed to the election outcome.

“Baba lost because people with surnames like yours didn’t vote for him, and because Uhuru was campaigning from State House instead of engaging with people on the ground,” he said.

He described his role as focusing on campaigning and public engagement.

“Didn’t you see me abusing people?” he added, stressing that he acted within his official responsibilities.

He also offered to publicly reconcile with alleged former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s aide, Patrick Mburu, to clarify how the funds were intended to be managed.
