ELDORET, Kenya — The 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results show an improvement in the number of candidates achieving higher grades compared to 2024.
Cabinet Secretary for Education, Julius Migos Ogamba, said that 507,131 candidates, or 50.92 percent, attained a grade C- (minus) and above, up from 476,889 (49.41 percent) in 2024.
Additionally, 634,082 candidates (63.67 percent) scored a pass grade of D+ and above, an increase from 605,774 (62.76 percent) the previous year.
CS Migos noted that the rise reflects overall improvement in student performance across the country.
“The 2025 results demonstrate steady progress in Kenya’s education system, with more students meeting both pass and university-entry requirements,” he said.
The Ministry of Education continues to emphasize quality teaching, equitable access, and integrity in examinations to sustain this upward trend in student achievement.
