NAIROBI, Kenya — The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released certificates for candidates who completed the 2024 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) examinations, clearing a long-awaited hurdle for thousands of graduates seeking jobs or further training.
In a notice dated Thursday, February 5, KNEC confirmed that it had finalised the processing of certificates for candidates who sat the March, July and November 2024 TVET examinations.
The release covers learners who undertook business and technical courses under the TVET framework.
The examination body said the certificates are now ready for collection at its new headquarters, Mitihani House in Nairobi.
However, KNEC clarified that the documents will only be issued to heads of institutions that presented candidates for the examinations.
“We wish to inform all heads of institutions that presented candidates for the 2024 Business and Technical examinations that the certificates are ready for collection at New Mitihani House, Nairobi,” the Council said.

Individual candidates have been advised to collect their certificates directly from their respective colleges, with KNEC emphasising that institutions remain the official link between the Council and candidates during the collection process.
KNEC also outlined the procedure for addressing any concerns related to the certificates.
All queries must be submitted in writing through heads of institutions, either physically or via the Council’s online Query Management Information System (QMIS) portal available on its website.
The Council set a strict deadline for lodging complaints, warning that delays will attract penalties.
“All queries must reach KNEC within 60 days after the release of the certificates. Queries received after June 30, 2026, will attract a fee of Sh5,000,” KNEC said.
The release is expected to provide relief to TVET graduates who depend on the certificates to secure employment, professional registration or admission into higher training institutions.
