NAIROBI, Kenya — Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir witnessed the signing of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract between the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) and Stecol Corporation for the dualling of the 23.5 km Muthaiga–Kiambu–Ndumberi Road.
The agreement marks a major milestone in Kenya’s ongoing infrastructure transformation agenda.
The project, which stretches from the Pangani Underpass through Muthaiga, Kiambu Town, and ends at Ndumberi, is expected to ease traffic congestion, enhance mobility, and unlock economic opportunities along one of the country’s busiest corridors.
“Improving key transport links such as this corridor will not only make travel safer and faster but also boost local economic growth and create jobs for communities along the route,” CS Chirchir said during the signing ceremony.

KURA officials noted that the project will integrate modern traffic management solutions, pedestrian facilities, and proper drainage systems to enhance road safety and durability.
Stecol Corporation, the lead contractor, is tasked with ensuring timely delivery and adherence to international engineering standards.
The signing underscores the government’s focus on strategic infrastructure investments to reduce congestion, improve mobility, and strengthen the country’s economic corridors.
