NAIROBI, Kenya — The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has announced that it will conduct County Delegates elections in Migori County on March 22, 2026, as part of internal party restructuring and grassroots leadership selection.
In a notice issued by the party’s National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC), eligible delegates from various party branches have been invited to apply for positions within the county party offices.
According to the announcement, the elections will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Migori County.
The notice, signed by NECC Chairperson Emily Awitta, stated that aspirants seeking different county-level party positions must pay application fees through the party’s paybill number 985900, indicating the position being contested.
Application fees for aspirants
The party outlined varying fees depending on the category of leadership position:
- Sh1,000 for any non-executive positions in county offices.
- Sh2,500 for positions representing women, youth, persons with disabilities, and special interest groups.
- Sh5,000 for executive positions in county offices, excluding the chairperson role.
- Sh10,000 for candidates seeking the county chairperson position.
Party officials said the internal elections will allow eligible delegates from branch units to compete for leadership positions that coordinate ODM activities at the county level.
