NAIROBI, Kenya- Kasmuel McOure, youth leader within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has issued a stern warning to ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, accusing him of undermining party leadership and loyalty to senior figures, including Dr Oburu Oginga.
In a strongly worded statement, McOure said Sifuna must choose between serving as ODM Secretary General or acting as “a village elder advancing the interests of political enemies and detractors.”
He accused Sifuna of failing the party on multiple occasions and warned that continued behaviour that undermines party unity will not be tolerated.
“The only place you have confidence to speak is Luo Nyanza. Your actions are betraying the people,” McOure said, urging Sifuna to either change his approach or face removal at the next National Delegates Convention.
Edwin Sifuna, you must decide whether you want to be the Secretary General of the ODM Party, or a village elder advancing the interests of our political enemies and detractors. This is a warning from the youth, to you and to leaders of your ilk.
McOure further threatened that if Sifuna and his associates persist in undermining party leadership, they will be held accountable.
“You will be the first to go, together with the cliques you work with,” he said.
In addition, McOure called on the President to reorganise the broad-based government and formally recognise Dr Oburu Oginga as a co-principal, emphasizing the need for political alignment within ODM.
Political analysts say the warning highlights growing tensions within the ODM party ahead of upcoming elections, reflecting internal divisions over loyalty, leadership, and party strategy.
