VATICAN CITY- Pope Leo XIV is set to embark on a series of major Apostolic Journeys in the coming months, with the first scheduled at the end of March, the Holy See Press Office has announced.
The pontiff will first make a one‑day visit to the Principality of Monaco on March 28, marking the start of his foreign travel schedule for 2026.
From April 13 to April 23, Pope Leo XIV will then undertake a ten‑day Apostolic Journey to Africa, visiting Algeria, Cameroon, Angola and Equatorial Guinea.
Following the African tour, he will travel to Spain from June 6 to June 12 for a six‑day visit that will include stops in Madrid, Barcelona and the Canary Islands.
The Vatican said the trips come in response to invitations from Heads of State and ecclesiastical authorities in the respective countries and reflect the Church’s commitment to fostering dialogue, solidarity and pastoral care across diverse regions.
The sequence of journeys highlights Pope Leo XIV’s international priorities this year, with Africa’s significance underscored by his programme there, ahead of engagements in Europe later in the summer.
