BUNGOMA, Kenya- National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has expressed concern over the rising cases of road accidents in the country, warning that road carnage continues to inflict deep human, social and economic losses.
Speaking during a visit to Bungoma County, Wetang’ula condoled with the family of Mzee Samson Barasa, who lost three children in a tragic road accident that occurred on Christmas Eve at the Mukhonje area.
The three siblings — Walter Simiyu, a Form Four student, Humprey Muriithi, who was in Grade Six, and Prince Baraka — were among 12 people who died in the grisly crash.

“The death of the three children is a huge blow to the family. It has shattered hopes, disrupted their academic journeys and robbed the family of a future they had invested in,” he said.
