KPLC: Nairobi Among 2 Counties to Face Power Maintenance on Friday, June 13

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya — Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power outage this Friday, June 13, that could affect your day.

The planned maintenance will kick off at 9:00 a.m. and run through to 5:00 p.m., targeting specific zones in both counties.

In Nairobi, residents and businesses in Pipeline Estate, Jackmil Supermarket, Quick Mart, PCEA Pipeline, and Stage Mpya should brace for the blackout.

Other affected areas include parts of Tassia Stage, Avenue Park 1 & 2 Estates, Kwa Kirima, Amazon, Pebble Hotel, and surrounding customers.

It doesn’t end there.

In Nyandarua County, a wide stretch will be offline—including Engineer, Miharati, and Njambini areas.

The blackout will hit nearly the entire grid here: Murungaru, Kinamba, Munyaka, Mike Eden, Yanga, Ndothua, Sasumaa Dam, Kiboro, Ndunyu Njeru, Memo, Ndinda, Mumui, Tigoni, Kabati, and even Foot Hill School.

If you’re in Muba, Mukiri, or Munyuni—you’re also on the list.

Kenya Power says the interruption is necessary for routine maintenance and system upgrades.

So, charge your devices, plan your errands, and prep your backups—Friday might be long if you’re in any of these zones.
