ODM MP Tough Message to President Ruto Over Abductions: “Kenya Needs Renaissance”

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – Firebrand Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi is the latest politician who continues to pile pressure on President William Ruto over the ongoing abductions in the country.

Recently, President Ruto’s government has been on the receiving end of stopping arbitrary arrests, freeing those who are thought to have been kidnapped, and fulfilling the requests stated by Generation Z in June 2024.

How “End Abductions Protests” rattled the government

Following the “End Abductions Protests” held in several parts of the country on Monday, December 30, 2024, Amisi warned President Ruto about the country’s current status.

“A revolutionary mood is set by very few people in dark alleys in small corners who believe in changing the status quo. It then spread like Australian forest fires, and before you realise it, a regional hegemony is down as a pariah nation,” Amisi told the head of state.

In a lengthy post on his official X account, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) lawmaker reminded President Ruto how Kenyans innocently endured scorching heat and rainfall to elect him.

“Kenyans then hoped their lives would be protected by the government you formed. You (President Ruto) and your hedgemen have chosen arrogance and threats. As you watch, some are slapping your Rift Valley MPs,” explained Amisi.

Why President William Ruto should be a worried man

The youthful MP further warned President Ruto that the current happenings in the country “might get heavy on him” since former prime minister and retired president Uhuru Kenyatta are not his “Siamese twins.”

“You will carry the bad legacy alone. This is not a request. Please get these youths from the hands of abductors and apologise to the nation! I’m the only one from the ODM Party with the guts to tell you the truth,” Amisi said.

MP Amisi added that the rest of his Orange Party colleagues must observe what he termed table manners.

“They don’t care whether the same table breaks down; they will continue eating from the ground. Kenya needs a renaissance!” explained Amisi.

The lawmaker’s remarks came on a day that furious Kenyans took to the streets to protest over the recent spike in kidnappings, which totalled over 80 for the year and over 10 in December alone.
