Ex-Cops Protecting Former DP Gachagua, His Property After State Withdrew Security

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- In a fiery interview on Inooro TV, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made startling allegations against President William Ruto and the government, accusing them of orchestrating attacks on him.

Speaking with unfiltered candor, Gachagua claimed that the recent Limuru attack, which targeted him and his delegation, was a government-sanctioned plot to end his life.

“The plan in Limuru was to kill me, but God saved my life,” Gachagua said, his voice laden with emotion.

He described the attackers as known criminals, asserting that the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, has turned a blind eye to their actions.

“How can a former Deputy President, along with women and children, be attacked, and no arrests have been made?” he asked, challenging Kanja to act decisively.

Gachagua didn’t mince words as he pointed fingers at the highest office in the land.

“The President should leave me alone since he already succeeded in removing me from power. In case anything happens to me, he will be held accountable,” he said.

According to Gachagua, his current security detail consists of former police officers who have volunteered to protect him after official protection was allegedly withdrawn.

“Above everything, we trust in God for protection,” he added.

The former Deputy President claims that the attacks are part of a larger plan to disrupt his engagements.

“They had planned for goons to attack all my meetings. The Inspector General knows this but has refused to do his job because it is the government behind it.”

The fallout between Gachagua and his former ally, President Ruto, has since reached a breaking point following his removal from power.

In the explosive interview, Gachagua accused Ruto of failing to take action, leaving him exposed and vulnerable.

“The President should be held accountable for anything that happens to me. Allow me to live peacefully with my children and wife,” he pleaded, adding that his calls to the Inspector General now go unanswered.

Gachagua’s allegations have sparked outrage and debate, with a section of his supporters wondering why no arrests have been made following the attack in Limuru.

The incident, which he describes as a direct threat to his life, has raised questions about the state of law enforcement and political accountability in Kenya.

“Villagers are wondering why IG Kanja hasn’t arrested the goons,” Gachagua said.
