NAIROBI, Kenya- Two people have been killed in a tragic road accident along the busy Mombasa-Nairobi highway in Makueni County.

The fatal Mombasa-Nairobi highway accident occurred at Mlima Kiu near Salama Town when a tour vehicle collided with a trailer.
Police confirmed that a female tourist from Belgium and the driver of the tour vehicle died on the spot.
A male tourist from Portugal sustained serious injuries and was rushed for emergency medical treatment.
Victims and Emergency Response
The injured tourist was first taken to Sultan Hamud Sub-County Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
The bodies of the deceased were also moved to the same facility’s mortuary.
Authorities said the tourists had arrived in Kenya on Sunday and were travelling by road to Mombasa at the time of the accident.
Makueni County Crash
The accident occurred near Mlima Kiu, a section of the highway that has previously recorded road crashes.
Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision between the tour vehicle and the trailer.
No official statement has yet been issued regarding the cause of the crash.
