Eric Omondi Launches Search for Little-Known Kasipul Gen Z Aspirant Who Ranked Ninth

Trending

Comedian and activist Eric Omondi is searching for Jeazmin Aoko, a little-known political aspirant who contested the Kasipul by-election and finished ninth with 26 votes.

The unexpected spotlight follows a heartfelt Instagram post in which Omondi praised the 26-year-old as a symbol of courage, persistence, and the political future he envisions under his youth-focused movement, YOUTH 47.

The post, uploaded three hours before it began trending widely, features a newspaper clipping of Jeazmin Aoko’s photo accompanied by a brief caption naming her as a candidate who participated in the recent by-election.

Omondi immediately took interest—an interest that has now evolved into an open call for anyone who knows her to reach out.

In his caption, Omondi referred to Jeazmin as his “Heroe of the Day,” describing her as a 26-year-old Gen Z woman who boldly stepped into politics with minimal resources and still made her mark.

According to him, the fact that she contested at all—despite garnering only 26 votes—was a show of bravery worth celebrating.

Omondi wrote that YOUTH 47, his now-popular civic initiative, is ready to sponsor her political ambitions fully and support her campaign for the 2027 elections. He framed Jeazmin as a symbolic figure of ‘the new Kenya,’ representing a generation that is increasingly vocal, bold, and willing to challenge political tradition.

“She is the NEW DAWN, she is the NEW KENYA that we are praying for,” his post read, echoing themes that have defined much of his activism this year.

Omondi’s interest in her story fits naturally into his current advocacy efforts, which have included high-visibility demonstrations, support for vulnerable families, and a renewed push to mobilize youth toward political participation.

YOUTH 47, the banner under which Omondi has been mobilizing young people across the country, aims to provide support, mentorship, and political awareness to young aspirants.

While much of its activity has primarily involved civic action and social welfare campaigns, Omondi has repeatedly hinted at ambitions to influence the political landscape more directly.

His announcement that the movement will sponsor Jeazmin’s 2027 ambitions marks one of the clearest signals yet that YOUTH 47 will field or support candidates in future elections.

It reinforces what he has long argued—that the youth need not wait for large party backing or powerful godfathers to step into leadership.

In his eyes, Jeazmin represents the very essence of what the movement stands for: boldness, intention, and a willingness to begin, no matter how small.

The post has triggered waves of comments, with many applauding Omondi for turning attention toward a young woman who would otherwise remain unknown.

Others expressed curiosity, asking for more information about Jeazmin’s background and what motivated her to run despite limited support.

As of now, Omondi is actively asking the public to help locate Jeazmin Aoko. If and when she is found, she stands to receive a rare opportunity: full sponsorship for a future political campaign and the backing of a movement with growing influence among Kenyan youth.
