Family Bank Expands Coastal Footprint with Launch of Kilifi Branch

NAIROBI, Kenya – Family Bank has bolstered its presence in Kenya’s coastal region with the inauguration of its 96th branch in Kilifi County. 

This becomes the ninth branch in the Coast, reaffirming the Bank’s commitment to deepening financial inclusion and supporting local economic growth.

Strategically located at Kilifi Plaza, the new branch is designed to offer accessible and customized financial solutions to meet the increasing demand for both business and personal banking services in the region.

Customers can expect a comprehensive range of services, including asset financing, SME and women-focused banking solutions, trade finance, loan facilities, and advanced digital banking options aimed at delivering greater convenience and efficiency.

“Our strategy continues to center on retail banking,” said Family Bank CEO Nancy Njau. 

“Kilifi presents a strong opportunity to serve a dynamic and growing business community. 

This new branch is a step forward in supporting local enterprises and households with meaningful financial tools.”

The Kilifi branch forms part of the Bank’s ambitious 2025–2029 Strategic Plan, which focuses on strengthening support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), optimizing branch operations, and enhancing digital capabilities.

“This move underscores our mission to be the go-to bank for business the ‘Preferred Bank for Biashara’,” Njau added. 

The opening in Kilifi follows recent relocations of the Bank’s Kangemi, Kisii, and Ngara branches to newly upgraded premises, all aimed at improving service delivery and customer experience.

Family Bank’s latest expansion highlights its sustained investment in regional markets and commitment to promoting financial inclusion, especially in areas that have historically been underserved.
