NAIROBI, Kenya – The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has made key leadership changes aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and enhancing service delivery.
In a statement on Thursday, KRA confirmed the appointment of Nancy Ng’etich as Commissioner for the Shared Services Department.
She had held the role in an acting capacity since February 2023, steering reforms in human resource alignment under the Authority’s 9th Corporate Plan and driving technology adoption to support revenue mobilization.
Ng’etich previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Policy and International Affairs in the Customs and Border Control Department.
Before joining KRA, she worked as a Senior Manager for Customs and Tax Advisory at Ernst & Young LLP.
“She has played a pivotal role in customs reforms, trade facilitation, African Continental Free Trade Area negotiations, and East African Community customs policy,” KRA said in its statement.

Ng’etich is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of the Law Society of Kenya, the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya, and the Kenya Institute of Management.
At the same time, KRA announced further changes in its Domestic Taxes structure.
Doreen Mbingi, Deputy Commissioner of Compliance for East and South Nairobi, has been appointed to head the Large and Medium Taxpayers Department in an acting capacity, pending substantive appointment.
Meanwhile, Rispah Simiyu, who has been serving as Commissioner for Domestic Taxes, has been seconded to the Ministry of National Treasury and Economic Planning.
The appointments are part of ongoing institutional realignments as KRA works to modernize its systems and broaden the tax base to meet revenue targets.
