NAIROBI, Kenya – The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) on Thursday joined Italian officials and senior Kenyan government representatives in celebrating the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, underscoring the growing partnership between the two nations.
The Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions in charge of the Department of Inspectorate and Quality Assurance, Hassan Abdi, represented DPP Renson Ingonga at the Nairobi event hosted by Italy’s Ambassador-Designate to Kenya, Vicenzo del Monaco.
The ODPP said the invitation affirmed the long-standing friendship between Kenya and Italy and the “deep-rooted cooperation” linking the two sides, especially in legal assistance, capacity building, and institutional development.
Over the years, the collaboration has expanded through joint initiatives in Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA), training programmes, and sustained engagement aimed at strengthening justice systems in both countries.
“The partnership continues to grow through shared commitments to justice reform, institutional strengthening, and cultural diplomacy,” the ODPP noted.
