Polish Content Creator Mzungu Fresh Leaves Kenya After Losing Phone, Sh20,000 Worth of Perfume to ‘Friends’
Polish content creator Mzungu Fresh has announced his decision to leave Kenya after claiming that he was stolen from by people he trusted, an experience he says left him frustrated, disappointed, and questioning his safety in the country.
In videos and posts shared on social media, the influencer alleged that close acquaintances—whom he repeatedly referred to as “friends”—made away with his mobile phone and an expensive perfume valued at Sh20,000. The claims have since sparked debate online about trust, personal security, and accountability.
“I lost my phone and my perfume worth 20,000 shillings,” Mzungu Fresh said in one of the clips. “And this was done by people I considered my friends.”
The content creator, who rose to popularity by documenting Kenyan culture, nightlife, and everyday interactions from a foreigner’s perspective, appeared visibly upset as he narrated the alleged betrayal. He suggested that the loss went beyond material items, stressing that the emotional impact of being stolen from by people close to him was more damaging.
“This is not even about the money,” he said. “It’s about trust. When people you trust do this to you, it changes everything.”
Mzungu Fresh went on to explain that the incident was not isolated. According to him, the alleged theft by friends came after previous experiences where he lost valuables in public settings. He claimed that the repeated nature of these incidents ultimately influenced his decision to leave the country.
“I love Kenya, but I can’t continue living like this,” he stated. “I don’t feel safe anymore.”
The influencer did not publicly name the individuals he accused, nor did he disclose the exact circumstances under which the items allegedly went missing. However, he maintained that the people involved had direct access to him and his belongings, reinforcing his assertion that the betrayal was personal.
As news of his claims spread, reactions online were mixed. Many Kenyans expressed sympathy, with some apologising on behalf of the country and urging him not to judge the nation based on the actions of a few individuals. Others encouraged him to formally report the matter to the authorities.
Mzungu Fresh has previously been praised for portraying Kenya positively, often highlighting hospitality, vibrant culture, and everyday life. This has made his recent remarks more striking to followers who associated his content with optimism and cultural appreciation.
