President Trump Urges Iran to Reach a Deal with U.S. On Its Nuclear Program Amid Israel Attacks

Date:

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, urging its leaders to strike a deal on its nuclear program with the United States or face further devastation amid ongoing Israeli military operations.

In a statement posted on his social media platform, Trump said Tehran had repeatedly failed to seize opportunities to negotiate during his presidency, claiming that the consequences of continued defiance would be catastrophic.

“I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal,” Trump wrote. “They just couldn’t get it done… Certain Iranian hardliners spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse.”

Israel launched a series of targeted airstrikes across Iran early Friday, killing senior Iranian military leaders and hitting key nuclear and defense infrastructure in what is shaping up to be one of the most dangerous escalations between the two long-time enemies in decades.

Iran confirmed that Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, was killed alongside Major General Hossein Salami, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and other high-ranking officials.

While Trump did not specify the current status of U.S. or Israeli military involvement, his remarks suggested support for ongoing Israeli strikes and warned of “even more brutal” planned assaults unless Iran changes course.

He framed the moment as a last opportunity for Tehran to preserve what he called “what was once known as the Iranian Empire,” adding: “Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left.”

Trump also alluded to the superior firepower of the United States and its allies, saying, “The United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World, BY FAR, and Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come — And they know how to use it.”
