BONDO, Kenya — Rev. Joseph Wesonga has stated that the death of former Prime Minister, the late Raila Amolo Odinga, has not only disrupted the ODM Party but also the broader government and the entire nation.
Speaking during the state funeral service at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) on Sunday, Rev. Wesonga urged leaders and citizens alike to find hope and unity in faith during this period of national grief.
“Death has disrupted the ODM Party, the broad-based government, and the country,” he said. “But the joy we have is that God promises to be with us. Let us wait upon the Lord, do what is right, and allow the democracy of our nation to grow.”
His message, delivered before thousands of mourners and dignitaries, resonated deeply in the packed arena, offering a moment of reflection amid sorrow.
Rev. Wesonga called on Kenyans to honor Raila’s legacy not only through mourning but through renewed commitment to justice, peace, and democratic growth.
