SHA Shortlists Two Candidates for Assistant Director Legal Services Position

NAIROBI, Kenya — The Social Health Authority (SHA) has shortlisted two candidates for the position of Assistant Director, Legal Services, following a recruitment process that attracted dozens of applicants.

In a notice issued under Section 17 and Schedule I of the Social Health Insurance Act, 2023, the authority said the vacancy was advertised on November 26, 2025, through local newspapers and its official website.

According to SHA, a total of 56 applications were received before the closing deadline of December 17, 2025, with only two candidates making it to the final shortlist.

The shortlisted candidates are Cynthia Auma Akeyo and Rowena Stella Chienges Ndeda.

Interviews for the position will be conducted on March 25, 2026, at the authority’s headquarters in Nairobi.

The candidates have been scheduled to appear before the panel at the SHA Headquarters Boardroom on the 10th Floor, with Akeyo expected at 9:00 a.m. and Ndeda at 9:30 a.m.

SHA said the candidates must report to the venue at least 30 minutes before their scheduled interview time.

Shortlisted applicants have also been directed to present original identification and academic documents, including their national identity cards, academic and professional certificates, and transcripts.

They will further be required to provide valid clearance certificates from key government agencies, including the Higher Education Loans Board, Kenya Revenue Authority, a registered Credit Reference Bureau, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

Applicants who obtained degrees from foreign universities must also present recognition letters from the Commission for University Education.

In addition, candidates are required to submit recommendation letters or certificates of good standing from relevant professional bodies where applicable.

The authority has also invited members of the public to submit any adverse information regarding the shortlisted candidates.

Such information should be submitted to the chairperson of the authority by March 23, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
