Crocs and SLBS Launch New Phone Case Collection in September

Date:

Crocs has expanded its brand portfolio beyond footwear with the launch of a new phone case collection in partnership with Seoul-based fashion label SLBS. The release, which took place on September 2, 2025, follows the company’s earlier entry into the phone accessory market through its collaboration with Samsung in January.

The Crocs x SLBS cases mirror the brand’s signature clog design, complete with perforated holes and Jibbitz charm compatibility. Key features include:

Device compatibility: The cases fit multiple smartphones, including iPhone, Samsung, and Google Pixel models.

Design options: Available in pastel colors such as lavender, mint, and cream, alongside matte black.

Strap system: A detachable strap allows users to wear the case crossbody or on the wrist.

Customization: Like Crocs shoes, the cases support Jibbitz charms for personalization.

The retail price ranges between $60 and $80 (KSh 7,800–10,500), positioning it as more affordable than January’s Samsung-exclusive Crocs case, which retailed at $119.

In January 2025, Crocs partnered with Samsung to release a limited-edition phone case designed specifically for the Galaxy S25 series. That product was positioned as a premium accessory, priced at $119, and generated global attention for its novelty design.

The September launch differs in three major ways: Accessibility – Broader device compatibility. Pricing – Lower price point than the Samsung version. Market focus – Positioned as a lifestyle and fashion accessory rather than a tech-exclusive product.

Crocs’ partnership with SLBS reflects a strategic alignment with South Korea’s growing influence in global fashion trends. Seoul is widely regarded as a hub for streetwear and techwear innovation, with strong youth-driven consumer demand.

The collaboration aims to extend Crocs’ brand identity beyond footwear into the lifestyle and tech accessory categories, capitalizing on:

Customization demand: Gen Z and millennial consumers increasingly value personalization in consumer products.

Social media visibility: Products designed for visual appeal and shareability perform strongly on TikTok and Instagram.

Fashion-tech convergence: Phone cases are evolving into visible lifestyle items, similar to sneakers or handbags.

The launch has gained traction across digital platforms. TikTok users have posted unboxing videos highlighting the customizable aspects of the cases, while Instagram stylists have showcased coordinated looks pairing Crocs footwear with the new cases.

Industry analysts suggest that if successful, this strategy could lead to the development of additional tech-related products under the Crocs brand, including laptop sleeves, smartwatch bands, or console covers.

The Crocs x SLBS phone case launch represents the company’s most significant move into non-footwear consumer categories to date. Unlike the Samsung-exclusive January release, the September collection demonstrates an effort to reach wider markets with accessible pricing, compatibility, and fashion-driven design.

Crocs’ ability to sustain momentum in this segment will depend on consumer uptake beyond initial hype, as well as the brand’s capacity to expand further into the lifestyle-tech space.
