iOS 18’s Surprise Feature: The Clock That Never Dies

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- iOS 18 is bringing a feature we never knew we needed: a clock display even when your iPhone is out of battery.

Yes, you read that right. According to a recent Reddit post , an image of their iPhone shows the time in the top right corner despite the device being out of power.

This is a feature familiar to Apple Watch users, but seeing it on an iPhone is a first.

Always Know the Time, Even with a Dead Battery

This new feature could be a ‘life-saver’ for those moments when you’re on the go, and your phone dies unexpectedly.

Imagine being in a situation where you need to check the time, but your phone is out of juice. With iOS 18, you’ll still have access to the clock.

This might seem like a minor addition compared to other flashy features, but it’s a practical enhancement that ensures users are never completely in the dark about the time.

Enhanced Find My Capabilities

iPhones will still be findable when out of battery, a feature that first appeared in iOS 15.

This means that even if your phone is seemingly dead, you can still track its location. This improvement is a relief for anyone who has ever misplaced their device at the worst possible moment.

The Bigger Picture: iOS 18’s Major Updates

While the ever-visible clock is a nifty addition, iOS 18 is packed with other significant updates.

One of the most talked-about changes is the enhanced Home screen customization.

Users will now have the freedom to place their app icons and widgets anywhere they like, rather than sticking to the traditional left-to-right and top-to-bottom grid.

This flexibility allows for a more personalized and functional Home screen experience.

Another major feature is Apple Intelligence, which will be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max due to hardware constraints.

This new suite of tools includes an upgraded Siri, which integrates ChatGPT for more advanced interactions, and the ability to generate images from prompts.

Additionally, Apple Intelligence introduces Genmojis in the Messages App, making your conversations more personalized.
