NAIROBI, Kenya- In a significant boost for Kenya’s tech landscape, Farada Group, a renowned Polish drone manufacturer, is set to establish a drone manufacturing company at Konza Technopolis.
This move is set to position Kenya as a central hub for drone technology in Africa, opening up new avenues for innovation and economic growth.
A Strategic Location with Regulatory Backing
Farada Group Chairman Adam Cudny announced the establishment of the drone plant during a demonstration event at Konza Technopolis.
The event showcased the company’s diverse range of drones to potential customers.
“We have all the necessary approvals and we have established a local company to implement the project,” said Cudny, highlighting that Farada has obtained all necessary regulatory approvals from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) to operate their drones in the country.
Versatile Drones for Diverse Applications
Farada Group specializes in manufacturing, operating, and integrating drones for a variety of uses.
These drones are designed for surveillance of wildlife and power lines, monitoring disasters such as floods and wildfires, and delivering goods like medical supplies.
Joanna Rutkowski, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, emphasized that Farada is targeting key players in Kenya such as Kenya Power and KETRACO for power line surveillance.
County governments and logistics companies are also potential clients, with drones capable of carrying up to 1000 kilograms, facilitating faster delivery of goods and critical supplies.
“Our drones can carry up to 1000 kilograms, making them ideal for rapid and efficient delivery of goods,” noted Rutkowski.
