In the face of a common enemy, The Scoop has established that the ruling UDA, ODM, and Jubilee could be warming up to a secret power deal.
Highly placed sources say the three parties have been rattled by the rising popularity of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s DCP Party—especially in the vote-rich Mt Kenya region.
On the surface, insiders suggest a UDA-ODM pact may square off with Jubilee, only to merge when the timing is right.
Former Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i is quietly positioning himself for the presidency through Jubilee.
Yet, those close to President William Ruto reportedly see him as a less threatening rival compared to Gachagua or Kalonzo Musyoka—and would not mind him running all the way.
For Ruto’s allies, a strong DCP remains the real danger. After all, it is Gachagua’s backyard that delivered him the bulk of 2022 votes.
