HELB Advertises 21 Senior and Mid-Level Jobs in Major Recruitment Drive

NAIROBI, Kenya — The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has announced a major recruitment drive, advertising 21 senior and mid-level positions as part of efforts to strengthen operations and service delivery.

In a public notice, HELB said it is seeking “transformative, competent and self-driven individuals” to join its leadership and technical teams across multiple directorates. The recruitment targets senior management, assistant directors, principal officers, and technical staff.

Among the senior positions advertised are Director of Operations, Deputy Director for Debt Management, Deputy Director for ICT Infrastructure and Support, Deputy Director for Business Application and Innovations, Deputy Director for Corporate Communication, and Deputy Director for Supply Chain Management.

Other advertised roles include Deputy Director for Research and Planning, Assistant Director for ICT Business Application and Innovations, Assistant Director for Information Systems Security and Data Protection, Assistant Director for Customer Experience, Assistant Director for Legal Services, and Assistant Director for Internal Audit.

HELB is also seeking Assistant Directors in Research and Planning, Management Accounting, External Resource Mobilisation and Products Development, as well as Principal Officers for Legal Services and Customer Experience in Digital and Creative Services.

Additional vacancies include Senior Customer Experience Officer (Digital and Creative Services), Internal Audit Officer, Driver II, and 11 positions for Assistant Customer Experience Officers.

According to the notice, most senior roles are graded at HELB Grade 3 and 4, while principal and officer-level positions range between HELB Grade 5 and 11. The majority of the positions are single-slot vacancies, except for Driver II (two positions) and Assistant Customer Experience Officer (11 positions).

Qualified applicants are required to submit application letters, detailed curriculum vitae, and certified copies of academic and professional certificates, clearly quoting the job title and reference number. Applications must be submitted on or before February 16, 2026.

Hard copy applications should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Higher Education Loans Board, Anniversary Towers, 19th Floor, P.O. Box 69489–00400, Nairobi. HELB also noted that soft copies should be sent to the specific email addresses provided for each position on its official website.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to present valid Chapter Six compliance documents, in line with constitutional requirements on leadership and integrity.

HELB reaffirmed its commitment to equal opportunity employment, encouraging applications from women, youth, persons with disabilities, and individuals from marginalised communities.

Established under an Act of Parliament in 1995, HELB provides loans, bursaries, and scholarships to Kenyan students in higher education and recovers repayments to sustain a revolving fund.
