NAIROBI, Kenya – As the countdown to the Paris Olympics continues it is important to understand the facilities that ensure that sports remain free from performance-enhancing drugs. 

    Africa’s sole World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accredited laboratory is in South Africa and stands as a beacon of integrity in the continent’s sporting landscape. 

    It is located within the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein and upholds the principles of fair play and ethical competition.

    It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by highly trained professionals who operate at the forefront of anti-doping efforts.

    The laboratory conducts rigorous analyses to detect prohibited substances and methods in athletes’ samples.

    Its accreditation by WADA signifies adherence to the highest standards of quality and reliability, instilling confidence in the integrity of sporting events across Africa and beyond.
