NAIROBI, Kenya — The Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) has announced 51 job vacancies, opening up opportunities across senior management, professional, technical, and support roles as the regulator strengthens oversight of Kenya’s insurance sector.
In a public advertisement issued on Tuesday, January 27, the authority invited qualified and interested Kenyans to apply for the positions through its official careers portal.
“The Authority is seeking applications for the following vacant positions,” the IRA said in the notice.
Senior and Management Positions
Among the senior roles advertised are several Assistant Director positions, reflecting the regulator’s focus on strengthening leadership in critical operational areas. These include:
- Assistant Director, Supervision (Prudential & Licensing)
- Assistant Director, Cybersecurity Supervision
- Assistant Director, Finance
- Assistant Director, Information Communication Technology
- Assistant Director, Human Resource Management
The authority is also recruiting Principal Officers across multiple departments, including supervision, cybersecurity, administration, supply chain management, and anti-money laundering.
Professional and Technical Roles
At the professional level, the vacancies include:
- Principal Supervision Officer (Prudential & Licensing)
- Principal Supervision Officer (Anti-Money Laundering)
- Principal Cybersecurity Officer
- Principal Administration Officer
- Principal Supply Chain Management Officer
Additional roles span legal, communications, compliance, and customer service functions. They include:
- Senior Supervision Officer (Anti-Money Laundering)
- Senior Cybersecurity Officer
- Senior Legal Officer (Legal Services)
- Senior Corporate Communication and Public Relations Officer
- Senior Customer Care Assistant
Other advertised positions include Supervision Officers, Conduct Supervision Officers, Cybersecurity Officers, and Legal Officers in governance, regulatory services, and legal services.
Support and Entry-Level Positions
The recruitment drive also targets support staff and entry-level professionals. These positions include:
- Corporate Communication and Public Relations Officer
- Security Officer
- Customer Care Assistant I, II, and III
- Records Assistant I and II
The wide range of roles signals IRA’s intention to enhance operational efficiency, regulatory enforcement and customer engagement as the insurance industry continues to evolve.
Application Process and Deadline
Interested applicants are required to submit their applications online only by filling in their details through the official IRA careers portal.
Applications must be submitted by Monday, February 16, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
The authority emphasized that all applicants must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution, which governs leadership and integrity.

“In accordance with the Employment (Amendment) Act, 2022, the Authority will require candidates it will enter into a written contract of service with to comply with Chapter Six of the Constitution by submitting mandatory compliance and clearance certificates from the relevant entities,” the IRA stated.
The regulator also issued a firm warning against canvassing, noting that any attempt to influence the recruitment process would lead to automatic disqualification.
The recruitment comes as the IRA continues to expand its regulatory mandate, including oversight of prudential standards, consumer protection, anti-money laundering compliance and cybersecurity risks within Kenya’s insurance industry.
