In a pointed response to recent allegations, Nderitu publicly defended his uncle, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and addressed rumors surrounding the handling of the family’s assets.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ken Nderitu emphasized that his father’s estate has been managed in a way that aligns with his late father’s wishes, praising his uncle for guiding him in business.

“My uncle has taught me a lot about business, and the estate of my late father has been handled in a way he would have been satisfied with,” he stated.
His remarks were in response to comments made by Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai, who questioned Nderitu’s absence from the public eye.
Alai had insinuated that the Deputy President had sidelined his nephew in managing the family’s wealth.

“Where is Ken Nderitu? He is over 35 years old now. He asked Rigathi to teach him how to run a family business but he is nowhere to support his case,” Alai had posted.
In his rebuttal, Ken urged political figures not to exploit his family’s tragedy for personal gain.
“So kindly, stop using my family’s loss and bereavement as a means to make relevant or propagate your fledgling political career,” he added, addressing those he believes are using the family’s private matters to advance political agendas.
The accusations have come at a time when Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua faces an impeachment motion in the Senate.
Senior Counsel James Orengo has raised questions regarding the handling of the late governor’s estate, alleging that the Deputy President misused funds from his late brother’s accounts.
Orengo, speaking during the impeachment hearings, accused Gachagua of acquiring prime properties using these funds and casting doubt on the legitimacy of his handling of the estate.
The Deputy President has condemned these accusations, describing them as a political smear campaign designed to discredit him.
