Kindiki commends Ruto for reaching out to Uhuru and Raila

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Kenya’s 61st Jamhuri Day celebrations at Uhuru Gardens were marked by more than the usual pomp and patriotism.

President William Ruto’s commitment to fostering political unity stole the spotlight, earning accolades from leaders across the political spectrum.

His efforts to engage former President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga were hailed as a significant step toward national cohesion.

Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki commended Ruto’s outreach, emphasizing its importance for stability and governance.

“We applaud you for reaching out to the former Prime Minister and the establishment of a broad-based government. Thank you for ensuring that every stakeholder is part of the table as we decide our country’s destiny,” said Kindiki.

This spirit of inclusivity, he noted, demonstrates a leadership style that values diverse perspectives to propel Kenya forward.

Kindiki underscored the role of unity in accelerating Kenya’s progress, urging stakeholders to rally behind the President’s vision.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja echoed these sentiments, applauding Ruto’s approach to bridging political divides. Sakaja highlighted how visible unity among leaders boosts investor confidence and underscores Kenya’s reputation as a stable nation.

“When we see you with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, it sends a powerful message. These images increase investor confidence and reassure Kenyans about peace and calm in our country,” Sakaja stated.

Sakaja also lauded the Kenya Kwanza administration for its milestones since assuming office in September 2022, noting that such collaborative governance strengthens the foundation for continued national growth.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of collective optimism and unity in tackling challenges.

Governor Sakaja reminded Kenyans to focus on the positives: “No country in the world is without issues, but we solve ours together. Let’s increase our levels of optimism and build on what’s working.”

With Jamhuri Day serving as a poignant reminder of Kenya’s journey to self-governance, Ruto’s leadership vision resonated strongly throughout the celebrations.

The President’s efforts to foster a united Kenya are not only setting a tone for his administration but also reaffirming the country’s commitment to inclusivity and shared progress.
