KUCCPS Opens Applications for KMTC September 2025 Intake

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened the application portal for the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) September 2025 intake.

In an announcement made on Monday, KUCCPS urged interested candidates seeking preservice courses to apply via its official portal: students.kuccps.net

For students applying for higher diplomas, upgrading courses, and short programs, the Kenya Medical Training College has directed applicants to use its internal platform: admissions.kmtc.ac.ke

The application window runs from June 23 to July 7, 2025.

HELB Loan Applications Now Open for KMTC Students

In a bid to support financially struggling students, the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has also opened its loan application portal for both new and continuing KMTC students.

The financial support initiative is part of a broader partnership between HELB and KMTC to cushion learners pursuing certificate and diploma courses.

KMTC CEO Dr Kelly Oluoch confirmed that the application process officially began on Wednesday, following the release of Sh500 million from the National Treasury under the April 2025 Supplementary Budget.

“The HELB portal is now open, and students interested in applying for financial support can do so starting today. The application window will remain open until June 24, 2025,” Dr Oluoch said.

Students applying for HELB support must:

  • Log into the HELB portal
  • Navigate to the KMTC Student Financing Scheme under the loan application tab
  • Accept the data collection consent form and loan terms
  • Fill in personal and guarantor details
  • Submit the completed application online
  • A PDF confirmation will be emailed to the applicant
  • Application status can be monitored via the HELB student portal

Returning Students Must Follow a Different Procedure

KMTC noted that students who have previously benefited from HELB loans and are applying for a second or subsequent time must follow a modified process, details of which are available on the HELB portal.

The twin announcements by KUCCPS and HELB come at a critical time for students facing increasing costs in the medical training sector.
