NPSC Clarifies Police Recruitment Venues Ahead of October Exercise

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has adjusted its schedule for the nationwide recruitment of police constables, set to begin this Friday, with new centres added and corrections made to earlier listings.

In a notice issued Tuesday, the Commission announced the establishment of seven additional recruitment venues across five counties, alongside clarifications in 23 centres listed in the initial advertisement.

In Kitui County, three venues—Nuu TVET grounds (Nuu subcounty), Zombe Stadium (Zombe subcounty), and Mathuki DCC grounds (Mwingi East)—have been added.

Wajir will now host an exercise at Sabuli, Tana River at Kokane, Tharaka Nithi at Kibung’a in Tharaka West, and Meru at Thaura Secondary School in Imenti South.

Several corrections have also been issued across nine counties. In Nairobi, for instance, recruitment for Embakasi North will now be conducted at Dandora Stadium on October 3, while Embakasi Central will hold its exercise at Huruma grounds on the same day.

Other notable changes include Bungoma’s Sirisia Sports Ground, which will now serve as a venue, alongside subcounties such as Suba West, Kabete, Chonyi, Nzambani, Samburu, and Chuka North on October 6.

Recruitment in Mbita, Kikuyu, Kaloleni, Lunga Lunga, Soy, Ganze, and Igamba Ng’ombe will follow on October 7.

Kitui Central, Githurai, Magarini, Mutitu North, Lower Yatta, and Webuye East are scheduled for October 8, while the nationwide exercise is set to conclude on October 9.

Apart from the stated additions and corrections, the Commission said all other details from the earlier advertisement remain unchanged.

Applicant Requirements
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged 18 to 28 years, possess a valid national ID, and hold at least a KCSE mean grade of D+ with a D+ in either English or Kiswahili.

They are also required to be physically and medically fit, with the minimum height set at 5ft 8in for men and 5ft 3in for women. Female applicants must not be pregnant during recruitment and training.

National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet the criteria have been encouraged to apply.

Application forms are available for download from the NPSC, Administration Police, DCI, National Police, and MyGov websites, or can be obtained at Huduma Centres.

On recruitment day, applicants must present original and photocopies of their academic certificates, national ID, birth certificate, and NYS discharge certificate, where applicable.
