NAIROBI, Kenya – In a step towards Kisumu’s urban transformation, Raila Odinga on Saturday joined GulfCap Real Estate for the groundbreaking ceremony of the LV Marina complex.
The project, located on the shores of Lake Victoria at the foot of the Riat and Nandi hills, is set to redefine living standards in the city.
Odinga, in a tweet following the event, emphasized Kisumu’s growing prominence as a forward-thinking city ready for future challenges.

He stressed the importance of cities offering higher standards of life, with better homes, schools, hospitals, social amenities, and jobs.
The LV Marina complex aims to bring international living standards to Kisumu, addressing the city’s pressing need for decent housing amid increasing rural-urban migration.
Odinga highlighted the role of the private sector in supporting local authorities in combating issues such as unplanned settlements and insecurity.
The launch of LV Marina reflects a broader vision of sustainable urbanization, with Odinga expressing gratitude to Kisumu’s leadership, including Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o and City Manager Mr. Abala Wanga, for their support of the project.
He also acknowledged GulfCap Real Estate and Hon. Suleiman Shahbal for their commitment to the initiative.
