NAIROBI, Kenya — Nairobi Water has initiated repair works on the damaged Kabete-Kilimani Transmission Pipeline, affecting several central and western Nairobi estates.
The utility confirmed that the pipeline serves Kileleshwa, Kilimani, State House, KEMRI, Highrise, Nairobi West, Upperhill, Madaraka, and surrounding areas.
Repair teams have been working through the night despite heavy rainfall, focusing on mechanical joints along the pipeline.
Water supply to the affected estates will be restored once the repairs are completed. Nairobi Water advised residents to call its toll-free line on 0800 724 366 between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. for updates or assistance.
This repair comes amid ongoing challenges in maintaining Nairobi’s aging water infrastructure, which has been vulnerable to pipeline bursts during heavy rains.
Officials have urged residents to exercise patience while emergency maintenance continues.
