KISUMU, Kenya — Security has been intensified at Mamboleo Grounds as thousands of mourners continue to stream in for the public viewing of the former Prime Minister, late Raila Amolo Odinga’s body.
Police officers are struggling to control the swelling crowd, with security personnel from the Kenya Police Service, KDF, and National Youth Service deployed to maintain order.
The body of the late opposition leader arrived in Kisumu early this morning aboard a Kenya Air Force aircraft, accompanied by senior government officials and family members.
Despite the heavy security presence, emotions remain high as mourners chant Raila’s name and wave ODM flags, turning the viewing into a sea of orange and black in tribute to “Baba.”
Public viewing is expected to continue throughout the day before the body is transported to Bondo later tonight, ahead of Sunday’s burial.
