Ahead of the highly anticipated event, set to kick off on Friday, March 20, Kenya Power has been named the official “Lighting Partner”, promising uninterrupted power at key locations.
Lighting Up the Safari Rally Action
In a briefing at State House on Saturday, Kenya Power Managing Director Dr. (Eng.) Joseph Siror, alongside WRC Safari Rally CEO Charles Gacheru, outlined the company’s critical role in supporting the event.
The power giant will be lighting up the Service Centre at the Wildlife Research and Training Institute (WRTI)—the nerve center where rally teams fine-tune their cars.
Additionally, partial lighting will be installed at the Safari Rally Village at Morendat Farm, offering fans and teams a well-lit experience while showcasing Kenya Power’s commitment to e-mobility and electric cooking solutions.

Driving E-Mobility and Green Energy
Kenya Power isn’t stopping at just keeping the rally running—it’s also making moves in the electric vehicle (EV) space.
So far, the company has acquired 11 electric vehicles and set up two public charging stations to push for a greener transport future.
President William Ruto, who was briefed on these developments, challenged Kenya Power to take things further and green its entire fleet, reinforcing the country’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
All Systems Go for the 2025 WRC Safari Rally
With the arrival of top competitors—including Toyota, the dominant force since WRC’s return to Kenya in 2019, and Hyundai—excitement is reaching fever pitch.
The rally will officially rev off from City Hall, with Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) serving as the holding area.
Expect the best in motorsport, with top names like defending champion Kalle Rovanperä, Belgian star Thierry Neuville, and current WRC standings leader Elfyn Evans battling it out on Kenya’s legendary terrain.
